MARKINCH MEDICAL PRACTICE

Salaried GP (with potential for partnership)

4-8 sessions per week

We are seeking a GP to join our friendly, well established team to work 4-8 sessions per week. Sessions days flexible. Start date Autumn 2023 (negotiable for the right candidate).

Our purposes built leased premises are located in the village of Markinch, in the heart of Fife, with excellent links to Edinburgh and Dundee. Our semirural location is a short distance from St Andrews and the picturesque coastal villages of North East Fife. We are ideally situated for outdoor activities with access to coastal walking, water sports and cycling.

All GPs in the practice work part-time, to accommodate specialist interests and work life balance. Our list size is approximately 6000.

We are a GP training practice, with trainees from NHS Education for Scotland GP Training program and the Scottish Graduate Entry Medicine scheme (ScotGEM).

Our team includes; 4 GP partners, salaried GP, Triage Nurse, Practice Nurse, Health Care Assistant and the wider NHS team which includes regular Mental Health Nurse, counselling service and a Local Area Co-ordinator and a visiting Psychiatrist. We have highly motivated and supportive administrative and secretarial teams. We are also fortunate to have the District Nursing team within our building.

We currently use the EMIS clinical system and DOCMAN for letter communication and we are a fully electronic practice. The practice manager and one of the partners have an active role in the local GP cluster and attend regular meetings.

The practice has no out of hours commitment but sessions would be available if interested.
