Ashvale Civil Engineering are looking for a Health and Safety/Training Advisor to help manage the environmental and H&S requirements across the company. Based at our Head Office, you will be working on a variety of construction projects. Projects include new build, refurbishment, extensions, groundworks, road works, drainage and more. You will be shadowing the SHE manager and learning the role, training support will be given for your qualifications in Health & Safety as you progress the role will entail liaising with clients, subcontractors and site operatives and managers, you will be responsible for auditing training requirements and site inspections ensuring compliance of all health and safety policies, procedures and regulations. Site visits / audits and subcontractors will be required, along with Helping the SHE manager with the updating and progressing of company policies and procedures. The responsibilities include: \xc2\xb7 Ensure that the highest standards of Health and Safety are maintained at all times. \xc2\xb7 Helping and updating the management of health and safety policies and procedures \xc2\xb7 Creation and reviewing of risk assessments, method statements and COSHH assessments. \xc2\xb7 Pre-construction / Construction Phase Plan and H&S file creation and management \xc2\xb7 Undertake site audits and inspections, identifying areas for improvement and reporting on the findings. \xc2\xb7 Assessing and managing safety hazards, including completion of H&S paperwork. \xc2\xb7 Ensuring appropriate site rules and welfare facilities are in place. \xc2\xb7 Carrying out regular health and safety inspections. \xc2\xb7 Ensure compliance on all sites. \xc2\xb7 CDM advice and guidance \xc2\xb7 Conduct training, toolbox talks, inductions and investigate incidents, where required. \xc2\xb7 Develop and implement best practice to improve performance. \xc2\xb7 Attending site and management meetings. \xc2\xb7 Work collaboratively with external and internal departments to ensure smooth running of health and safety on site, taking appropriate action to address issues or concerns in a timely manner. Requirements: \xc2\xb7 Interest into Health and Safety as a career. \xc2\xb7 CSCS (preferred but not necessary). \xc2\xb7 Full, clean UK driving licence. \xc2\xb7 Excellent organisational and time management skills. \xc2\xb7 Excellent IT skills and experience in Microsoft Office / 365, including word, excel, outlook, powerpoint, teams, etc. \xc2\xb7 Ability to communicate confidently with people at all levels. \xc2\xb7 Self motivated and looking to progress in your career. \xc2\xb7 Able to work under pressure to maintain deadlines. \xc2\xb7 Articulate in written and oral English communication. \xc2\xb7 Personally presentable at all times.
