Salary: \xc2\xa332,194 to \xc2\xa334,452 plus a Location allowance of \xc2\xa31,721. You will receive \xc2\xa332,194 the band minimum. Progress to the band maximum of \xc2\xa334,452 will be via incremental progression.

This is an exciting time to be working as a Safety Camera Processing Team Manager for the Metropolitan Police Service. In addition to large-scale transformation, there\'s the unique and ever-evolving challenge of policing London. This means that as a Safety Camera Processing Team Manager, there are more opportunities for you to get involved with making London the safest global city in a time of unprecedented change within the UK\'s largest Police Service.

The role is full time and jobholder will need to work 5 days a week.

  • Managing a team responsible for tracing drivers whose vehicles have activated automated Traffic Safety Speed and Red Traffic Light Enforcement Cameras located throughout Met
  • Ensuring appropriate enforcement is taken which may vary depending on the circumstances, from the issue of a National Safety Awareness course or Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty or prosecution at court
The latter two outcomes both result in the payment of a fine and driving licence endorsement.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and support a team of staff and ensure their welfare, training and targets support MO10 - Met Prosecution objectives
  • Assign work daily to staff, monitor relevant workspaces in StarDome (bespoke computer system) and take corrective action as appropriate to maintain workflow. Monitor and utilise dashboard data to understand demands / workflows and activity undertaken by team members. Supervise all aspects of work undertaken in the unit, ensuring adequate resources are available to meet core activities and targets
  • Handling telephone calls and liaising with members of the public, HMCTS Conditional Offer Unit, National Course Providers, any other Police Force or organisation wherever necessary.
  • Deal with contentious telephone calls or correspondence and keep computer records updated
  • Deal with Complaints
  • Liaise with National Course Providers regarding queries relating to critical dates. Liaise with HMCTS regarding acceptance of late payments and queries relating to Conditional Offers of Fixed Penalty
  • Respond to all e-mail requests for information
  • Retrieve and process e-mail requests from generic mailbox requests or queries from members of the public
  • Review and process requests for dispensation involving emergency vehicles
  • Ensure that an efficient and tidy filing system is maintained for all work scanned and that retrieval of all paperwork relating to offences is timely and confidential destruction of documents
  • Ensure weekly targets for filling court space with cases are met
  • Create rota for post duties / scanning and ensuring adequate office cover is maintained
  • Consider improvements to work practices
  • Conduct monthly Team meetings and regular performance development reviews are undertaken with staff
  • Attend court and give evidence if necessary
  • Undertake any other duties as directed

  • A high level of interpersonal skills, demonstrating an ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships and to use own initiative to make sound and fair decisions
Be highly motivated and: * Demonstrate ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • The jobholder will manage and prioritise their workload according to the business need
  • Demonstrate ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
  • Demonstrate a methodical and flexible approach to work, with the ability to plan and prioritise workload and allocate tasks
  • Be competent in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent management of resources
  • The jobholder must be prepared to take responsibility for their own development and to undertake further training to improve their knowledge and skills
Desirable Criteria
  • Previous experience and knowledge of basic traffic law and the wider Criminal Justice process and procedures
  • Have experience in the production of clear, concise and accurate statements and reports
