Job Details
This is a general roadworker role within Roads and Transportation Service carrying out roads and footpath maintenance and construction activities. It will be based at Bankhead Central, Glenrothes, but working at various locations across Fife.
The role of the post is to carry out as part of a team, a wide range of road and footway maintenance and construction activities.
To assist in the delivery of an emergency service including winter maintenance throughout the year.
Key tasks include safe excavation, kerbing, tarring, installation of drainage systems and installation of street furniture.
There will be on occasion a requirement to work in adverse weather conditions.
The hours of work are split into Summer and Winter hours week but average 36hrs throughout the year.

The Person
You should have had experience of working in the roads maintenance and construction industry and the ability to work in all weather conditions.
You should possess good communication skills and be able to transfer these in different circumstances e.g., dealing with members of the public. You should be a good team player as well as being able to work with the minimum of supervision.
You should be willing to participate in out of hours emergency standby rota's. Overtime rates and/or fixed payments are paid where appropriate.
