Job Description
A client within the Public Sector based in Merseyside is currently recruiting for an Engineer to join their highways team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a network co-ordination environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to assist in providing technical and managerial support to the Traffic Management and Road Safety Team.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Ensure the assessment, procurement and delivery of traffic management programmes and policies, and to provide quality, efficient and profitable services, in accordance with the agreed aims of the Council.
- Undertake traffic studies, including analysis of pedestrian and vehicle flows, etc.
- Assist Principal Engineer Network Co-ordination, with both Co-ordination and management of planned and emergency works on the public highway including supporting the Network Co-ordination Team.
- Checking and approval of schemes designed and implemented by consultants.
To be considered for this role you will require experience in the below:
- Responding to enquiries on traffic management issues.
- Monitoring the effectiveness of traffic management schemes.
- Providing traffic management input to highway schemes, local searches, etc.
- Designing and implementing permanent and temporary traffic regulation orders, etc in conjunction with other areas of the Council.
