About You

As a Risk Surveyor, you will be at the forefront of safeguarding McCarthy Stone's reputation, financial resilience, and customer satisfaction by ensuring the effective technical, contractual, and financial resolution of complex domestic property claims. You will bring a blend of construction knowledge, forensic thinking, and risk oversight to a dynamic and commercially impactful role.


Your expertise in building pathology, construction detailing, and damage causation will help you identify root issues, validate warranty claims, and recommend effective remediation strategies. Through your technical insight and advisory support, you'll influence smarter decisions, reduce future risk, and enhance claim outcomes across our nationwide portfolio.


We are looking for a diligent and decisive professional with a strong grasp of construction risk and repair processes. You will be a confident communicator, comfortable navigating complex technical files, interpreting regulatory and warranty frameworks, and building constructive partnerships across internal teams and external providers.

In this multifaceted role, you will ensure the robust technical governance of property claims and drive consistent, fair, and commercially effective outcomes. Whether overseeing the validation of remedial scopes, analysing damage root causes, or challenging warranty decisions, your work will ensure projects are handled with diligence, foresight, and precision.

- Strong knowledge of domestic construction and repair techniques; experienced in damage cause analysis, warranty interpretation, and risk mitigation

- Comfortable delving into root causes, analysing complex claim files, and producing clear, evidence-backed recommendations

- Skilled in evaluating costs, identifying trends, and delivering insights that feed into continuous improvement and financial protection

- Adept at liaising with technical, commercial, legal, and customer operations teams; confident engaging with suppliers and warranty providers
