Our client is a central London law firm with around 100 staff. They work in five main areas of business, including Corporate, Real Estate and Private Client. Their benefits package includes corporate gym membership, season ticket loan, 25 days holiday and pension scheme.
They are now looking to recruit a Senior Accounts Assistant. The Senior Accounts Assistant will lead on all billing matters for our client\xe2\x80\x99s growing subsidiary who provide legal services internationally. This role will manage some general reporting and accounts housekeeping to ensure our high standards of accounting are maintained.
Responsibilities
Running the daily office credit report, handling any potential issues which may arise.
Running weekly client-to-office report, chasing, and investigating CTOs that have not yet been completed.
Managing the monthly consolidated accounts across multiple matters.
Changing matter fee earners.
Closing inactive matters.
Uploading invoices to Legal Tracker and/or Bright flag (according to client requirements); and
Dealing with residual balances and liaise with team members on inactive matters.
Manage all billing matters in relation to iGlobal matters (typically ~150 bills at any time),
Client to office transfers and office to client transfers.
Posting of client receipts in relation to bills and dealing with clients directly to chase unpaid bills (if required).
Converting bills into foreign currencies.
Payment of foreign counsel invoices for month-end billing.
Updating the main iGlobal payments spreadsheet and collating all payment paperwork and uploading to 3E.
Posting of bank charges in relation to payments sent.
Unpaying bills when needed for credit notes.
Dealing with bank reconciliations.
Candidate Profile
Significant experience (at least 4 years) as an accounts assistant or senior account assistant in a law firm.
Must have knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR).
Experience using the 3E accounts system desirable but not essential.
IT skills including good knowledge of Word, Excel, and various accounting software.
Excellent communication skills \xe2\x80\x93 must be able to interact and communicate effectively across all levels of seniority and on both an internal and external basis.
Must have the ability to formulate and maintain good working relationships both internally and externally.
Able to work well under pressure and in keeping with deadlines.
Must have excellent attention to detail.
Strong IT, organizational skills.
Able to manage own workload and show initiative.
