We are currently on the lookout for a Return Home Interview Worker. The Return home interview worker will provide support to children and young people affected by sexual exploitation and /or young people who go missing in the London Borough of Bromley and support improved protection from harm for young people who are at risk of or who have experienced sexual exploitation, and are at risk of or who have experienced going missing from home or care by conducting, engaging an effective independent return home interviews. To improve young people\'s understanding of issues around exploitation, improve their emotional well-being and the support they receive. To be persistent with young people, endeavoring to meet the young person and offer them a non-judgemental safe space to talk to work closely with the team in Bromley in developing our practice for young people at risk, including shaping the service through gaining young people\'s feedback
Responsibilities:
To engage persistently, quickly and effectively with individual young people who have gone missing from home or care
To deliver independent return home interviews for young people, in order to listen to their needs, protect them from harm and improve their emotional well-being.
To develop and promote models of consultation and participation of young people to influence decision-making processes that affect their lives and shape the service that they receive.
To act as an advocate for the young people accessing the service.
To deliver high-quality exit interviews for young people leaving the care system, representing their voice in a child-focussed way with an aim to improve the care system for young people
To work in partnership with families and carers, police, children\'s services, education and other relevant voluntary and statutory agencies to strengthen their capacity to support young people that go missing from home or care.
To contribute to a multi-agency approach in accordance with the protocols in place to protect missing young people and local Safeguarding procedures, in order to provide effective interventions with young people.
To provide and promote a culture of safe practice demonstrating the understanding of and readiness to follow the agreed referral process for young people at risk
To contribute to the administration of the project by undertaking tasks that support effective delivery of services, monitoring and evaluation of work and the maintenance of accurate records in accordance with health and safety requirements
