Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated resuscitation team, this role is for anyone with a passion for using education to improve patient outcomes across our Trust. The postholder will work with the Resuscitation Lead to facilitate teaching and training in Resuscitation within the Trust, with a focus on delivery of adult & paediatric related courses, in line with current national guidance, therefore ensuring that related clinical practice throughout the trust is of high quality, evidence based, patient focused and safe. The post holder would also be expected to contribute to the management and maintenance of training and simulation equipment.



The post holder will also act as an expert resource for Resuscitation issues across the Trust, particularly those in relation to care of deteriorating patients in both adult and paediatrics, with responsibility for ensuring that cardiac arrests, resuscitation equipment and other processes are appropriately managed and audited and that trust policies, procedures, competencies and guidelines are current and effectively communicated. In addition, the post holder will attend cardiac arrest calls when possible and provide feedback to team members at an appropriate time following the event.



Co-ordinate and facilitate teaching and training in Resuscitation for all levels of staff within the Trust in line with current national guidance Ensure resuscitation equipment in clinical use is monitored and maintained to an appropriate standard, advising on replacement and procurement as required Ensure that all training and simulation equipment is maintained and fit for purpose Respond to 2222 calls as part of the 'Crash Team' when possible Constantly seek opportunities to increase awareness of resuscitation issues within the Trust Ensure that the process and outcome of all resuscitation attempts are appropriately recorded, audited and benchmarked with other similar departments using a standardised method Contribute to the input of arrest data for the National Cardiac Arrest Audit (NCAA) Promote clinical practice in resuscitation and life support as being research and evidence based
