Chatsworth Restaurant is a vibrant casual dining venue at Blue Diamond Garden Centres with seating for 130 covers. We pride ourselves on delivering warm hospitality and quality food in a relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant currently achieves an annual turnover of around 850,000, with the potential to grow to 975,000 under strong leadership. We have a loyal customer base and an enthusiastic team, and we are now looking for a Restaurant Manager to bring the next level of care and excellence to our operations.
Role Summary
As the Restaurant Manager, you will take full ownership of the restaurant's day-to-day operations and future growth. We need someone who will bring their personlaity and attention to the business - ensuring every detail is attended to and the restaurant runs smoothly at all times. You will lead and nurture a high-performing team, drive sales and customer satisfaction, and optimise labour costs and efficiencies. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment, perfect for a passionate hospitality professional who leads by example. Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence:
Bring care and attention to every aspect of the restaurant's operation, maintaining a welcoming ambiance and high service standards throughout each shift. Ensure smooth, efficient daily running of the restaurant, from opening to closing.
Team Leadership & Development:
Build and nurture a high-performing team. Recruit, train, and mentor staff members, fostering a positive work culture with ongoing development, motivation, and clear communication. Lead by example to inspire excellent performance and teamwork.
Sales & Customer Satisfaction:
Drive sales and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction. Implement initiatives to increase revenue (such events, or upselling strategies) and work with the team to deliver memorable dining experiences. Respond promptly and professionally to customer feedback or complaints, always aiming to exceed guest expectations and build loyalty.
Labour Cost Management & Efficiency:
Manage labour costs and overall operational efficiency. Create effective staff rotas that align labour usage with customer demand, and oversee stock control and ordering to minimize waste. Monitor the restaurant's performance against financial targets (revenues and costs) and adjust operations as needed to achieve profitability goals.
Standards & Compliance:
Uphold high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and safety. Ensure all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations are strictly followed. Maintain the restaurant's image and reputation by keeping facilities in excellent condition and enforcing company policies and industry best practices at all times.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience & Progression:
An unbroken track record of career progression in hospitality - you've steadily grown from entry-level roles to management, demonstrating loyalty and success at each stage. Alternatively, you might be a strong Assistant Manager who is ready to step upinto a Restaurant Manager position, bringing the same level of dedication and skill.
Leadership Skills:
Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team. You excel at developing staff potential, setting clear expectations, and creating a positive, accountable work environment.
Customer Focus:
Passionate about delivering outstanding customer service. You understand what it takes to create a great guest experience and are committed to maintaining high customer satisfaction scores and repeat business.
Business Acumen:
Good head for business and numbers - comfortable with budgeting, interpreting sales figures, and controlling costs. You understand how to manage labour budgets, drive sales, and contribute to improving the restaurant's profitability.
Communication & Organization:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Able to effectively coordinate between front-of-house and back-of-house teams. Strong organizational abilities to handle scheduling, inventory management, and administrative tasks efficiently.
Flexibility:
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, to meet the operational needs of the restaurant (with the benefit of having key holidays off). You remain calm under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
