About Us
At Action for Children, we believe that every child should have a safe and happy childhood. Last year, we helped more than 600,000 children and families across the UK. We work to ensure their voices are heard, and campaign to bring lasting change to their lives.
About the Role:
Are you positive, compassionate, and caring?
We have an exciting opportunity, Stoneside are opening an additional new long term residential home, which will be based on the same site as their current short breaks and already established long term residential home. Although primarily this position is to work within long term residential, you will be part of a large well established team and will support young people across both short breaks and long term residential, that are based in one building.
We are looking for Residential Workers to join our team (G43 1JF), providing quality residential care and short breaks services for young people aged between 8 - 19 years with children with various learning disabilities.
Within our residential service we provide long-term placement for three young people. Our Short breaks service offers families a vital service where young people spend fun and quality time within the service out with their family home for overnight stays.
We support Children and Young People who can, at times, present with behaviours that can be physically and emotionally challenging, alongside having a range of complex needs. This means that the people we are looking for, must be emotionally resilient enough to remain calm and compassionate at the times when it\'s needed most. We never said this job was easy, but it is incredibly rewarding, and you have the chance to make a real difference to someone\'s life. Our Residential Workers support our Children and Young People through the day with activities, hobbies, daily living tasks, medication and elements of personal care.
We want everyone who works with us to be encouraging and aspirational to help our Children and Young People reach their potential. There is lots of it! It is also essential that you bring with you a sense of adventure and a great sense of humour. After all, work should be fun
