Job Description

Bloomberg Care Services Ltd. - Grenville House provides residential care to adults with learning disabilities, mental health, Autism and additional needs with aspects of their daily living such as Leisure activities, Hobbies, Meal times, Administering medication, Personal Care, Shopping, Financial support and family contact. As a Support worker your main focus will be to promote person centred care to all of the people we support within their residential home. Get to know the people we support. What their likes and dislikes are and what they would like to achieve. It is important to us that the people we support are listened to. A Key role of yours will be to identify challenges that the adults we support may face and support them to overcome them.

We all change over time and it is important that staff adapt and support the adults as they change. You must be able to adopt a person-centred approach (be flexible) to support and identify what the adults we support want and how you can help them achieve this.

Create a homely environment, work as a team with other staff members and management.

Main Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):



To be responsible to the team, senior staff and the registered manager for the direct care of the residents and support of the staff team when on duty. To actively promote Bloomberg Care Services philosophy of creating a family style home and maintain the home's Statement of Purpose. Helping the adults we support with leisure interests and skill development inside and outside the home. Domestic duties (washing, cleaning, cooking etc) Participation in the house shopping with residents where possible Listening to the residents, including their feelings about any difficulties they may be having. Supporting residents with personal/ intimate care needs if and when required, following individual support plans. Recording residents needs/activities/behaviours in the home's systems. Facilitating regular residents meetings. To help ensure that each of the residents health needs are met including: Liaising with medical services (e.g. GP, Dentist) Ensuring the implementation of appropriate medication procedures.

Skills & Experience:



Should have experience / qualifications within the care sector (NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care Preferred). Should have a caring nature and be willing to receive training Must have the right to work in the EU - we are currently unable to provide sponsorships. Subject to an enhanced DBS clearance.

Shift Patterns:



Three days on Three days off - Rolling rota 8am - 8pm (12 hour shifts)

Pay: 12.21 per hour
