A 2-year fixed term opportunity is available in the Private Rented Sector Licensing Team. We would like to hear from exceptional candidates with a can-do attitude who will take ownership of cases to improve resident\'s lives.
Successful candidates will be appointed to support the priority work being completed by this team in relation to enforcement against rogue landlords, and energy efficiency in the Private Rented Sector, using fixed penalties to enforce EPC standards where noncompliance is identified.
As an Residential Investigation and Enforcement Officer you will undertake a range of activity utilising regulatory and intelligence tools to regulate the Private Rented Sector. Your work will focus on compiling and evaluating evidence through research, intelligence and information gathering, as well as inspection. The role sits within an environmental health service that has a very pro-active approach to investigating and carrying out enforcement activity to tackle Rouge Landlords operating in the Borough.
As an Residential Investigation and Enforcement Officer you will play a key role in helping build cases that will lead to prosecution or other enforcement outcomes. The ideal candidate for this role will have a working knowledge of housing legislation in relation to enforcement and compliance with licensing conditions. The role would be well suited to those with previous enforcement experience, and it may also suit those coming from a counter fraud, intelligence analyst, or law enforcement background. It would also be well suited to an Environmental Health Technical Officer with experience within private sector housing. Good IT skills are essential as well as a keen eye for detail and an ability to compile detailed report documents.
You will be supported day-to-day by your Seniors and a Team Manager and have the opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills through both internal and external training.
