You will play an instrumental role in this by supporting construction and refurbishment projects which maintain and enhance the learning and living environment for our diverse student population, and the working environment for our staff.
We have an exciting opportunity within our Residential Estates Team for a and experienced building surveyor and project manager to join our established team to carry out the delivery of planned long term maintenance and refurbishment projects across the Halls of Residences estate. The basic hours are 35 hours per week but there will be a requirement to manage your workload at given points of the year to enable delivery.
You will have excellent technical and communication skills, with the ability also to plan and manage your own workload. You will be a positive and proactive problem solver and have the ability to manage a mixture of long term maintenance / refurbishment at the same time to ensure that work is delivered on time and to a high standard. You will be a strong team player, but also be self-sufficient and able to work independently.
The successful candidate will hold a qualification or have the relevant industry and job experience. They will be familiar with H&S legislation and understanding of risk assessments, method statements, COSHH assessments and how to apply these to projects.
A full driving license in order to travel to other local sites is essential.
