An established and approachable high-street law firm in London is looking to welcome a dedicated
Residential Property Legal Secretary
to their busy conveyancing team. The firm prides itself on delivering a personal and professional service, maintaining strong client relationships, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
The Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive legal secretary with residential property experience to play a key role in supporting the conveyancing team, with a particular focus on
post-completion processes
. You will be instrumental in ensuring that transactions are finalised efficiently and in line with legal requirements.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Providing secretarial and administrative support to fee earners handling residential property matters
Preparing and submitting SDLT returns and Land Registry applications
Managing the full range of post-completion tasks, including handling requisitions and resolving registration queries
Drafting routine correspondence, documents, and client updates under supervision
Liaising with clients, solicitors, estate agents, and lenders to assist with progress updates and coordination
Opening, maintaining, and closing files in compliance with firm procedures and regulatory standards
Supporting general office administration including scanning, filing, and photocopying
What They're Looking For
Prior experience within a residential conveyancing team, ideally with knowledge of the post-completion process
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in typing and document preparation
Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
Confident communicator with a professional and courteous manner
Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with case management systems
A collaborative attitude with the ability to work independently when needed
