Residential Children's Worker

Salary / Pay Rate:

26,000.00 - 32,916.00

Shifts pattern:

2 on 4 off shift pattern with sleep-in after each shift

Contract:

Temporary up to 12 months for Maternity cover

Access to vehicle required:

A full UK driving license, and we ask that you get business insurance for your vehicle.

Crystal Care Solutions are a specialist, independent social care organization who operate a number of residential and supported living units across the region. Established in 2006 we pride ourselves in providing in making an outstanding contribution to the children and young people we care for which is highlighted with 50% of our Residential Homes being rated Outstanding with Ofsted.

What you'll do

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Crystal Care Solutions team for a Residential Children's Worker within one of our registered Children's Homes. Our aim and yours will be to transform the lives of looked-after children. As a Residential Children's Worker, every day will be different and you won't find a more rewarding career.

What you'll need

Provide a safe environment for the young people in our care

Good communication skills with the ability to develop positive relationships

Be a good team player to provide a high level of care and achieve positive outcomes

Encourage the young people to be motivated and take part in activities, education and extracurricular activities

Have attention to detail ensuring correct information is recorded in all paperwork

Demonstrate a commitment to own training and development

Be able to adapt working practice to the ethos of the home

Have resilience, motivation and determination

Can adapt to challenging and changing situations

Be inclusive to all children and young people

Be confident in using Microsoft Office including Outlook and Word, or willing to learn

Be flexible and able to undertake shift work including weekends and sleep-ins.

Apply for enhanced DBS disclosure and if applicable, overseas criminal records checks

Full UK driving licence and a car available for work use with business insurance.

Desirable Attributes

Diploma L3 Health and Social Care: Practice (Children and Young People) or equivalent or willingness to work towards the above Level 3 qualification

Knowledge of current legislation relevant to Children's Homes

Experience of Ofsted inspections

Understanding of attachment and trauma in relation to young people
