We are an established company with a recently opened 3 bed home for young people with EBD. We are seeking motivated, enthusiastic and committed individuals who hold a driving licence to join us in supporting the leadership team in developing this service where the holistic progress of children is at the heart of what we do.
Job Purpose
The Support Worker role is to support the Team Leader and Registered Manager in providing the best quality childcare in a safe and care - focussed environment for the young people. When on shift you will have initial responsibilities for monitoring, assisting, providing support for colleagues whilst ensuring the welfare and care of the young people.
To ensure safeguarding and the progress of our young people is at the heart of what we do.
To contribute to and implement care plans, participate in reviews and other meetings as required and ensuring LAC documentation is up to date and changed when appropriate i.e. after a statutory review.
To be sensitive to the needs of individual young people, taking account of race, language, religion, sexuality and culture.
To talk and listen to young people, monitoring their behaviour and recording significant features.
To promote working in partnership with parents, carers, social workers and any other appropriate persons involved in the care and wellbeing of a child or young person.
To promote the development of new staff members through role modelling.
To provide support to the Team Leader and Registered Manager, which may include cover in the absence and annual leave of colleagues.
To work in accordance with the home's policies and procedures.
To be responsible for your deployment whilst on duty to ensure that the work in the home is appropriately undertaken.
To participate in the induction process and ongoing CPD requirements
Qualifications and Experience
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care; or equivalent would be beneficial but not essential
You will need to be a driver, eligible to drive in the UK.
Demonstrate commitment to continuing professional development.
Recent and relevant experience working as a Support Worker in a residential children's home.
Understanding Safeguarding and your role in Working together to safeguard children.
Working with children, young people and their families.
Experience of inter-agency work.

Pay: 12.98-19.47 per hour
