Part time residential child care practitioner - Montgomery Terrace Road





We currently have a permanent 16 hour vacancy at Montgomery Terrace Road which is a childrens home which is operational 24hrs a day 365 days per year, providing essential day-to-day care to our vulnerable children.



You will work these hours on a rota pattern according to the needs of the home and therefore you will need to be flexible with the ability to work shifts and any out of hours that may be required which may include weekends, bank holidays and sleeping in. Out of hours payments will be paid at enhanced rates.



As a residential child care practitioner you will play a crucial part in providing life changing support, enabling children to thrive and have the best life chances.



You will have experience of working with vulnerable children, be resilient and able to deal with challenging behaviour.



You will be able to formulate care plans and risk assessments and have a good understanding of child and emotional development, supporting children to recover from childhood trauma, abuse or neglect. You will need to be IT competent with the ability to update electronic records.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
