A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Research Grants Manager to join a bold and innovative health charity based in Fleet, Hampshire.
Salary: c\xc2\xa343,500 (dependent on experience)
Hybrid working: 2-3 days office-based
As Research Grants Manager you will implement the continuing expansion of the charity\'s research activities, overseeing the grant programme and the grant processes.
To do this efficiently you will:
Manage the charity\'s grant application processes, following the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) principles to promote the charity receiving high quality applications for funding, that applications are appropriately tracked, and peer reviewed and funding recommendations are made to deadline.
Support the development and maintenance of the charity\'s grant management database.
Monitor outputs of research funded by the charity and use this information to promote the charity\'s work, improve the management and focus of the research programme and to identify and share any impact resulting from funded research.
Ensure the scientific accuracy of internal and external publicity about the research programme, for example in fundraising materials, newsletters, website content and press releases.
Develop the research grant programme in line with the charity\'s research strategy: Accelerating a Cure.
Support the Head of Research and the Chief Scientific Officer in raising the profile of the charity\'s research programme externally, networking with researchers, clinicians and other key stakeholders, including supporters and the general public.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years\' experience in research administration and at least one years\' experience in grant making. The ability to span research areas from basic to clinical, at non-expert level is key, as is proven experience of working with databases/spreadsheets and managing research budgets. You must also have experience of clinical trials funding and be adept at communicating complex scientific concepts to a wide range of audiences.
Knowledge of research governance practice and the national and international research landscape (preferably related to cancer research) would also be beneficial.
