About us The mission of the UCL GOS Institute of Child Health is to improve the health and well-being of children, and the adults they will become, through world-class research, education and public engagement. The UCL GOS ICH, together with its clinical partner Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, forms the largest concentration of children\xe2\x80\x99s health research outside North America. About the role We are seeking to appoint a highly enthusiastic postdoctoral research fellow to join a large national programme on establishing a UK platform of Nucleic Acid Therapeutics for rare disease (UPNAT Node), supported by the UKRI MRC and NIHR. The post holder will be responsible for conducting experiments on testing NATs designed for the targets selected by the Target Selection Working Group in the Node. This post will work alongside an existing senior research fellow already supported by the current GOSH BRC on developing customized RNA therapies for ultra-rare childhood genetic disorders. The post will actively involve in all the Node-related activities, including working group meetings, scientific symposium, Node webinars, training workshops. Meanwhile, the post will work closely with Node coordinator to maintain the Node-related database and assist PIs and Node coordinator to organize symposia and workshops. The salary range for this post is \xc2\xa340,524 - \xc2\xa342,705 pa. The post will be allocated in the Zhou lab at the Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health (GOSICH), full time for 2 years.
About you It is essential that applicants hold a PhD degree in biomedical sciences or closely related areas. Strong knowledge and skillset in preclinical RNA therapy drug development (ASO, siRNA, mRNA) in different model systems are highly desired.
