The UCL Division of Psychiatry, located within the Faculty of Brain Sciences, is a world-renowned centre of excellence in mental health research. The research fellow will work on a large collaborative grant funded by the Medical Research Foundation, which aims to develop new measures and techniques in order to better understand the role environmental risk factors in the aetiology of eating disorders. Grant co-investigators are based in the Bartlett School of Architecture, University of York, University of Bristol, University of Cambridge, King\xe2\x80\x99s College London, Queen Mary\xe2\x80\x99s University London, and the Anna Freud Centre.

About the role

The research fellow will undertake high-level epidemiological research (e.g., longitudinal analyses of cohort-EHR linked data, spatial analyses and EMA), and collaborate on the development of a new eating disorder measure. They will lead on PPI activities and help supervise data collection; they will plan and execute analyses, and lead the interpretation, write-up, and dissemination of results for communication to public health, educational and clinical audiences.

Appointment details:

  • The post is graded on the non-clinical research staff Pay Scale Grade 7, the annual salary for which ranges from \xc2\xa340,524, to \xc2\xa345,021 (including London Allowance).
  • The appointment is available from November 2023, or as early as possible afterwards and is funded for 36 months in the first instance.
  • Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at Grade 6B (salary \xc2\xa336,832 - \xc2\xa338,466 per annum) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD Thesis.\'
About you

The research fellow will have a PhD in epidemiology, psychology, statistics, or equivalent experience, with demonstrated experience in large-scale epidemiological data analysis and a track-record of carrying out high-quality research and publishing in peer-reviewed journals. Previous experience of questionnaire development and validation, Ecologic Momentary Assessment analyses, as well as an interest in eating disorder research are desirable, but not essential.
