The UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology Department of Clinical and Movement Neurosciences is a world-leading group that brings together expertise across the clinical and basic science spectrum of the physiology and pathology of human movement and movement disorders.
The Schrag research group, based in the Department, is focused on the investigation and treatment of motor and non-motor features of Parkinson\xe2\x80\x99s disease (PD) using a patient-centered approach. This includes several intervention studies to improve non-pharmacological and pharmacological management of symptoms, development of outcome measures for clinical trials, and epidemiological studies to explore natural history and prognosis, with a particular focus on the investigation and treatment of psychiatric aspects of PD.
About the role
We are recruiting a Research Fellow in Medical Statistics or Epidemiology to support clinical studies in patients with PD, focusing on non-motor symptoms of PD. You will support the ongoing studies in the field of PD in the group, including contributing to the analysis of data from a clinical trial, epidemiological studies on the prodromal phase of PD, and observational studies using scales and questionnaires. You will work in a multidisciplinary group working on PD and other movement disorders and will collaborate with the Department of Statistical Science. You will have the opportunity to make the most of available datasets and infrastructure and propose your own research.
The role is available immediately and funded for one year in the first instance.

About you
You will have a PhD in in Medical Statistics, Epidemiology, or Health Economics, and knowledge of key elements of study designs used in medical research. Experience in using a range of statistical methods used in clinical trials and other medical research and of data management, curation, and linkage methods for large datasets is essential. Experience of publishing medical research, and the analysis of primary care datasets is desirable.
