Job Description

Specific duties would vary according to the requirements of the research project but may include: Project management Organisation and management of new projects Contributing to development of grant applications and other applied health research projects as required Involvement in preparation of documentation for ethics committee approval Development of study procedures and documentation including standard operating procedures Communicating with stakeholders including health professionals, teachers, parents, religious settings, local authority, voluntary sectors and children at relevant stages in the project Organise stakeholder meetings as required, including meetings of scientific advisory groups Quantitative data collection with parents, teachers, children and other stakeholders Reporting of project progress and results Management of data Systematic literature reviews Communication Preparation, submission and revision of publications for peer-reviewed academic journals with the support of the academic team Preparation and dissemination of research findings via poster and oral presentations locally, nationally and internationally Communication with other researchers and stakeholders, local, nationally and internationally Other duties Act as a resource for local inexperienced researchers, e.g. students and clinical staff Assist in the development of research protocols Ensure that research is undertaken in full compliance with UK GCP guidelines and in accord with local and national research governance
