The International Symposium is the biggest annual conference dedicated to ALS and MND research. It is the premier event in the MND research calendar for discussion on the latest advances in research and clinical management.
As a Research Conference Officer, you will efficiently manage our symposium software platform (EventsAir) and its content (administration, submissions and communications). Providing relevant, accurate and up-to-date information in an accessible format to all internal and external stakeholders. Acting as the main contact for all conference submission enquiries. This will include communicating with researchers, healthcare professionals, people living with and affected by MND, external companies and MND Association staff.
Key responsibilities of this role will include publishing key dates, managing all communications, instructions, and attendance for the event. Manage content of the symposium microsite webpages, promote abstract/poster submission, post symposium analysis, and assisting colleagues with research reporting on the symposium programme.
You will be responsible for the scientific project and experiment submissions (abstracts) process. From portal creation, queries, abstract review and organising poster sessions.
A vital part of this role will be to attend the International Symposium in-person to oversee aspects of the event and coordinate the research team to ensure its success.

Hybrid Working Expectations: 1 day per week minimum office attendance.
(Flexibility to attend the office more regularly on occasion may be required to meet business needs)
What are we looking for?
A highly organised individual with experience of planning and arranging events and conferences either in person, or virtually/hybrid.
Excellent communication skills are essential. You will be developing and maintaining good working relationships with a wide range of people, internally and externally.
Good logical, analytical, and lateral thinking skills with a proven ability to accurately manage datasets and effectively use databases.
Copywriting skills are required, with the ability to translate complex research information for a range of audiences.
