Data-driven, Machine learning-aided Stratification and Management of Multiple Long-term Conditions in Adults with Intellectual Disabilities - DECODE.
DECODE is a 30-month research project funded by the NIHR Artificial Intelligence for Multiple Long-Term Conditions (AIM) Programme. This project is led by Loughborough University (PI: Dr Gyuchan Thomas Jun, Professor of Socio-technical System Design) jointly with Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (joint PI: Dr Satheesh Gangadharan, Consultant Psychiatrist). Overall, the project team consists of fifteen co-investigators with expertise in the field of intellectual disabilities, neuropsychiatry, epidemiology, health data science, machine learning, data visualisation, human factors, qualitative research and ethics from eight institutions.
The successful candidate will work closely with Professor Thomas Jun, who is the joint PI and work package 4 lead of DECODE. They will conduct research in the area of human-centred healthcare system innovation continuing some of the ongoing work streams in work package 4 (literature reviews and stakeholder interviews) and conducting a series of focus groups and stakeholder workshops using participatory system design approaches. The role will involve closely working with a team of researchers/PPIE leads/project manager including a learning disability nurse, a speech and language therapist, data scientists/engineers, a psychologist, an ethicist and psychiatrists. The desk space will be provided, but some remote desk-based work can be arranged. There will be opportunities to work with researchers/staff in six other consortiums in the NIHR AIM programme across the UK. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute to research outputs.
