Targe Towing Limited is a subsidiary of the Forth Ports Group and is responsible for providing marine services for the INEOS Forties Pipeline System (FPS) at Hound Point Marine Terminal.

About The Role




This role reports to the INEOS Marine Operations Manager and will require the successful candidate to have in depth knowledge of tanker operations and cargo oil systems. This includes monitoring loading operations, docking/undocking ships, cargo arm connection/disconnection, vapour management and pre-transfer safety checks. The role also requires the support of maintenance work at the terminal through control of work permits and applying isolations.

Key responsibilities

:

Providing support and guidance to the Terminal Operators during operations. Working with and coordinating small boat operations for the Marine Services Crew. Assisting with the technical operation of the cargo arms and gangway. Communicating clearly with external agencies regarding ship operations. Planning and coordinating vessel movements to and from the terminal. Demonstrating an understanding of vessel stability relative to Terminal requirements. Conducting dynamic risk assessments and reporting any issues to the Marine Operations Manager. Ensuring safe operations for shift personnel, contractors and visitors. Overseeing and applying the control of work permit system and isolations. Supporting various Terminal and Company Audits. Optimising Terminal performance in relation to charter party obligations, vessel clearances and minimising demurrage claims.

What are we looking for?



Strong leadership and demonstrated supervisory skills in a similar role. Ability to prioritise work tasks in a dynamic operational environment and demonstrate the flexibility to meet these challenges. Excellent communication, planning and IT skills. Demonstrated ability to provide effective operational cover for on-shift Marine Supervisors, (in coordination with the Marine Operations Manager). This position requires flexibility, as there is no fixed shift rotation; candidates will need to accommodate a flexible working schedule. A minimum of 144 hours per month (equivalent to 12 x 12-hour shifts) is guaranteed, with additional compensation provided for any extra shifts worked. Full UK driving licence; with personal vehicle. Required home location to be a maximum 1-hour commute from Hound Point Marine Terminal.

Skills and Qualifications:



Officer of the Watch Competency with Dangerous Cargo Endorsement (Oil) or Basic Tanker Training. 12 months minimum sea time experience.
