We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Relationship Director to join our Private Bank team. This role offers the opportunity to work within a well-established portfolio of local corporate clients while actively driving business development efforts to expand our client base. As part of a dynamic team, you will work alongside experienced professionals, adding to an already well-structured portfolio. Your responsibilities will include managing existing high-net-worth corporate clients, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring a high standard of risk management.



This position is customer-facing, involving regular meetings, networking, and attendance at industry events to strengthen client relationships and expand Barclays' market presence. This role is ideal for a professional with a background in financial services, particularly in corporate banking, who possesses strong credit and risk management skills. Qualifications and relevant certifications are essential.



A typical day in this role includes preparing and conducting client meetings, assessing risk and credit applications, seeking opportunities to introduce specialist advisors, managing day-to-day client servicing, and participating in key industry events.

Essential Criteria

:

New Business and Asset Acquisition

- Demonstrated ability to acquire new clients, net new assets, credit, and investments.

Client Service Excellence

- Proven experience in maintaining high levels of client service and delivery.

Product and Credit

- Expertise in banking products, credit structuring, and addressing client queries effectively.

Cross-Department Collaboration

- Experience acting as a key interface between clients and multiple business divisions such as Wealth Advisory, credit, Cash and liquidity, Investment Advisory, and Portfolio Management.

Financial Market Knowledge

- Strong understanding of market trends, issues, and opportunities to provide valuable insights to clients.

- Ability to drive revenue growth through effective sales strategies and negotiations.

Purpose of the role




To establish and nurture profitable partnerships with both corporate and individual clients. It's the bridge between the bank's offerings and clients' needs, ensuring mutual benefit and long-term success.

Accountabilities



Management of client relationships to identify the clients financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance to support the analysis of data obtained from various sources, including the investment portfolio and cash flow, to identify trends, insights, areas for improvement and additional services to support client needs. Research and understanding of the client's industry trends, regulatory landscape, and competitive environment to inform strategic recommendations. Design of customised solutions that address the client's specific needs and objectives, incorporating a range of products and services from the bank's portfolio. Communication of the value proposition of proposed solutions, justification of recommendations, and negotiation of terms that are beneficial for both the client and the bank. Provision of guidance to clients to support their financial decisions, offering advice, risk management and wealth management strategies support, and updates on market trends to ensure a positive and continuous relationship. Assessment of financial, legal, and operational risks associated with client relationships, and implementation of measures to minimise potential losses. Documentation of all client interactions, transactions, and agreements to ensure transparency and auditability, and communicate findings effectively to support product development, service offerings, and the overall bank strategy. Monitoring of client satisfaction, revenue generated, and other relevant metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of relationship management efforts.
