In this role, the Quality Assurance Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring quality and efficiency across business operations. The Quality Assurance Engineer will assist the Quality Engineering Lead with the management and improvement of the Quality Management System, conduct performance assessments, and lead corrective actions to ensure compliance and continuous improvement across the site. They will also create quality plans, support risk management, and act as an SME during audits to promote effective practices.

Key Accountabilities




Quality Management System Oversight





Review, document, and communicate best practices through the Quality Management System. Ensure that management systems accurately reflect business activities and promote consistent, efficient, and effective working practices.



Performance and Compliance Assessments





Conduct comprehensive and independent audits to evaluate performance and ensure conformance with internal and external requirements, including customer expectations, contractual obligations, technical specifications, and legal regulations. Champion continual improvement activities within the business, providing guidance in risk management and quality control. Collaborate with various departments to implement solutions that address non-conformances and improve overall quality.



Change Management and Improvement





Drive methodical change management, including managing non-conformance reports, conducting root cause analysis, and overseeing corrective action processes. Identify opportunities for system improvements, including new techniques, approaches, and technologies.



Quality Plan Development and Risk Management





Create and manage comprehensive quality plans. Support risk management initiatives and ensure oversight of compliance activities to ensure thorough and routine adherence.



Health & Safety and Audits





Observe health and safety practices in the factory and office, providing feedback to management on potential concerns. Act as a subject matter expert during external audit activities, representing the organization effectively.



Performance Reporting and System Monitoring





Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of the quality management system and identify areas for improvement. Provide regular updates to senior management on the status of quality initiatives, compliance levels, and overall system performance.



What We're Looking For





To thrive in this role, you should bring:



Bachelor's degree in engineering, business management, or a related field. Significant work experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a high-performing team. Demonstrated expertise in implementing and maintaining international standards, especially ISO 9001, with experience in ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 being advantageous. Qualified internal auditor certification (ISO 9001). Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively share information with colleagues. Strong IT skills, particularly in producing high-standard documentation, data analysis, and report generation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/MRP systems. Handling day to day NCR's within the production environment Containment, Root Cause and Corrective actions/Investigations and 8D's Liaising with key functions to solve production issues Writing and updating internal documents Administration of internal NCR's using Jirra software Customer escape management and resolution using Quality tools ( RCCA,8D,5Y,PFMEA etc) Aero/Automotive experience preferred but not essential.
