Main Purpose of Role

The core function of this role is the development of the five SGS GAS UK core activities within the wider SGS UK portfolio. These include;
  • Custom Process Measurement Solutions
  • Calibration & Maintenance of gas analysis systems
  • Process Gas Testing
  • Specialist Laboratory Analysis
  • Semiconductor Gas Line Assurance
  • The position will be responsible for actively promoting sales in the UK region and will provide technical sales support to our customers and the wider regional SGS UK team
Key Accountabilities
  • To identify, contact and develop new customers who have never previously traded with SGS
  • To identify new opportunities within existing customers and re-engage lapsed customers
  • To present SGS products and services to potential new, existing, and lapsed customers
  • To create compelling business cases to encourage customers to place work with SGS
  • To generate new business revenues for SGS to meet budgetary and strategic goals
  • To maintain and develop personal knowledge and industry expertise
  • To stay ahead of market trends, utilising professional membership and trade associations
  • To identify and react to new and developing market, competitor, and regulatory developments to ensure SGS takes advantage of all market opportunities
  • To work collaboratively with colleagues promoting SGS services, across businesses and service
  • To work with SGS CRM systems, updating contacts, activities, opportunities, and successes within required timescales, in accordance with the UK Responsible Sales & Marketing Policy.
  • Adhere to SGS sales KPI\'s in relation to customer engagement activities
  • To meet the individual annual personal objectives set within the Sales Bonus Scheme Personal Objectives Planning Form (UKGRP-FORM-067) and provide evidence of satisfactory completion
  • To ensure full compliance with SGS Responsible Sales and Marketing Policy
  • To travel, as required, for meetings and presentations
Individual Objectives set for 2023

1. Custom Process Measurement Solutions
Develop an indept understanding of different gas analysis methodologies to apply to various process applications throughout industry. Be familiar with the different techniques for conditioning gas samples. Some examples of applications include Combustion Control, Hydrogen Quality, Insertion Control, Process Control, Gas Quality Projects, Mobile Analysis Karts

2. Calibration & Maintenance of gas analysis systems

Continue the fast growth of our field services by selling onsite preventative and corrective maintenance (servicing and calibration) of gas detectors, gas analyses and gas chromatographs.

3. Process Gas Testing
Increase customer base in the Pharmaceutical/Bio-Pharma and Medical Device industries. Apply industry knowledge of GMP and Compliance environments along with specifications and methodologies of European and United States Pharmacopeia (EP & USP), ISO8573-1 and Cleanroom Standards - EudraLex Vol 4 and ISO 14644.

4. Specialist Laboratory Analysis
To increase sample numbers for laboratory analysis, we must focus on customers who specialise 1. Hydrogen production and Carbon Dioxide production/usage/capture/storage. 2. Ultra High Purity (UHP) gas analysis down to ppt levels. And 3. Complex gas compositions

5. Semiconductor Gas Line Assurance
Reach all Semiconductor and Microelectronic manufacturing facilities to promote our UHP line qualification services.

Qualifications

How to be a successful candidate

Essential
  • Significant experience in a highly technical B2B environment
  • Experience working in an environment aligned to the technical aspects of this role
  • Experience working successfully within a performance measured CRM based sales environment
  • Meeting with customers and presenting effectively with a history of closing sales
  • Packaging and bundling services to ensure sales opportunities are maximised within and across direct area of responsibility
  • Sales qualification, or time served to demonstrate experience
  • Full clean driving licence for use in the UK
Desirable
  • Experience with budgeting and sales forecasting
  • Proven track record of delivering Customer Service Excellence
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific, technical, engineering discipline
  • Project Management qualification such as Prince2, Six Sigma, CAPM, PMP
  • Customer Service qualification such as NVQ, Practitioner, Institute of Customer Service
