Job summary

This post is open to applicants who can meet the College's nationality, UK residency and vetting requirements.

About us:

We're the professional body for the police service in England and Wales. We work with everyone in policing to set standards, to share knowledge and good practice and to support the development of police officers and staff. Our mission is to drive a consistent approach across policing where the public and the service expect it, to boost professionalism and to improve leadership at every level.

The successful applicants for these roles will be directly seconded to the National Police Chiefs Council, working as part of Operation Soteria.

THE NATIONAL POLICE CHIEFS' COUNCIL (NPCC)

Policing is operating in a time of global change and uncertainty, the public and our staff need a service which is responsive, able to tackle future challenges and embrace opportunity.

The National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC) brings UK police leaders together to set direction in policing and drive progress for the public.

We achieve this through:

Coordination - by joining up the operational response to critical national policing issues to deliver policing today and shape the future. Collaboration - by working in partnership as part of the whole policing system and beyond to improve public safety. Communication - by sharing the collective expertise, views and action of UK police chiefs.

OPERATION SOTERIA

In order to implement and embed the National Operating Model (NOM) for Rape and Serious Sexual Offences (RASSO) across all 43 forces in England and Wales, Operation Soteria will work with all forces to ensure the NOM is embedded in every force in a consistent way. This programme is a key flagship manifesto commitment from the Government and a national priority as rape has been identified as a national threat to the country.

National Centre for VAWG and Public Protection (NCVPP)

This role sits within the newly created NCVPP which has brought together the work of the VKPP, the VAWG Taskforce and Operation Soteria into a single centre with greater capabilities and influence.

The NCVPP will also build trust and credibility through engaging with independent trusted academics, sector stakeholders and statutory and non-statutory partners. This will create a unified, strategic direction for police forces and wider partnerships, while retaining and consolidating the learning, expertise and capabilities of existing programmes under one Centre.
