The position


As a Regional Medical Advisor (RMA) for metabolic diseases covering the East Midlands, you will lead the development and delivery of local and regional medical advisory services to support business goals. You'll serve as a trusted medical expert to healthcare professionals, ensuring they understand the science and clinical value of our treatments. The role involves driving medical education, supporting strategic initiatives, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure alignment across teams.


Your key responsibilities will be:
Gather and share medical insights and competitor intelligence to inform Medical Affairs strategy and cross-functional projects, both locally and internationally Support clinical research activities, including trial site identification, Investigator Sponsored Studies, and local phase IV studies from setup to publication Build trusted relationships with HCPs and institutions, deliver high-quality medical education, facilitate advisory boards, and respond to medical inquiries Collaborate with healthcare systems and associations to co-create solutions that improve patient outcomes and optimize clinical care pathways Train colleagues, lead scientific events, support promotional meetings, and contribute to medico-marketing strategy and expert speaker engagement



Qualifications


Medical, Ph.D. or Pharmacy qualification; post-graduate medical qualifications are a plus Strong clinical and / or scientific expertise, ideally with experience in the pharmaceutical industry and metabolic therapy areas Excellent communication, networking and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex science ABPI Medical Representative Examination completed or willingness to obtain certification Solid understanding of the ABPI Code of Practice and promotional regulations Knowledge of UK healthcare systems, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and drug development processes Adaptable, proactive, and confident managing complexity in a fast-paced environment Proficient in Microsoft Office and fluent in written and spoken English Full, clean driving licence



About the department


You will be an active member of the UK Medical Affairs team, contributing to the execution of our medical affairs strategy. Based in the UK, our department is committed to delivering high-quality medical affairs strategies aligned with Novo Nordisk's objectives. We foster a collaborative and inspiring atmosphere, working closely with departments across the business. Our team is dedicated to ensuring compliance with ABPI code as well as company quality systems and procedures.
