Regional Cleaning Supervisor
Position Overview:
37.5 hrs per week - Rate of Pay \xc2\xa311.30 Per Hour
The Regional Cleaning Supervisor will be required to deliver a first-class service at the BBC sites around Scotland, reporting into the Regional Cleaning Manager.
This role will be based from the BBC Headquarters at Pacific Quay in Glasgow but will have the responsibility for all 17 regional sites across Scotland. A company van will be provided when visiting other sites out with Pacific Quay in Glasgow.
This role requires the post holder to have excellent interpersonal skills and to have the ability to build relationships within the team and with the customer. The post holder will also need outstanding communication skills, deal with the team with discretion and have first class organisational skills, with the ability to delegate. As the Regional Cleaning Supervisor, you must have experience of all cleaning tasks to a high specification, within a client facing environment and be to passionate about delivering first-class customer service. Key to this role is people management with a team comprising of 22 cleaning staff throughout various sites.

Management of the Cleaning staff.

Ensure all sites maintain the agreed level of cleanliness, in line with the contract and relevant SLA\'s.
Carry out all daily weekly and periodic tasks as directed by the Regional Cleaning Manager.
Ensure that the service is delivered effectively and efficiently to a very high standard.
To ensure all equipment is kept clean, well maintained and is in a safe working order.
To have a full knowledge and understanding of the designated cleaning area, including the agreed specification and time allocated to facilities.
To have a full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and approved chemicals used by Mitie.
To build positive and productive working relationships with all customers. Strive for continuous improvements in service delivery, providing excellent customer service. Seeking ways to continuously improve and exceed expectations.
Ensure operational and site-specific goals/requirements are met, where possible improved.
Work in collaboration with the Regional Cleaning Manager to provide support and service delivery to all building users.
Ensure that disruptions are kept to a minimum, liaison with staff is maintained and there is no impact to broadcast.
Manage a complex and varied team covering 24/7 operations. (3- Dayshift staff 6am to 2pm, 2- Full time backshift staff 2pm till 10pm, 3- part time staff 5pm to 10pm Monday to Friday and Saturday and Sunday 1 dayshift 8am to 4.30pm)
Maintain high level of customer satisfaction.
Critical to standards is the management of the daily site checks by carrying out cleaning audit\'s
Ensure the Cleaning team are approachable and willing to assist with any enquiries/ additional tasks that may be asked of them
Ensure the Cleaning Team are knowledgeable of all areas within their areas of responsibility and are well placed to cover colleagues when required
Ensure the Cleaning team are providing a professional, can-do approach.
Ensure cover is in place when required for any staff leave or additional cover for events.
Ensure any processes required to be followed by the service lines within remit are done so at all times.
Ensure regular building walks of all areas to identify any required works, log these and follow through to completion by liaising with teams responsible.
Any other duties that may be required and which are considered by the Regional Manager to be consistent with the level and the general responsibilities of the role.
Deputise for the Cleaning Manager when required
People Management & HR
Direct management of teams/shifts including the Scotland Sites out with Pacific Quay.
Managing performance and absence along with any HR related issues.
Knowledge and experience of managing investigations, disciplinaries and grievances.
Being involved in recruitment.
Manage and develop the site teams through effective induction, training, development, and annual appraisals.
Health and Safety
Maintain a good working knowledge of relevant Health & Safety legislation.
Assist Regional Cleaning Manager with Director Audit requirements.
Maintain a safe working environment within the areas of responsibility and champion zero accidents and incidents.
Ensure monthly reporting of hazards and interventions is carried out and all actions are closed out within the required timeframes.
Ensure all training is carried out by all teams as required and records are kept up to date.
Ensure site documentation is reviewed and updated as required.
What we are looking for:
Cleaning experience is preferred however training can be provided.
Experience in managing successful teams of a similar size in high profile buildings/environment is essential.
Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a highly demanding environment.
