Job Description

Swan Medical Centre is a GP surgery based in Yardley Birmingham. We are a busy practice with 2 GP partners, salaried GPs and we offer a range of health care services



We are looking for a highly skilled experienced receptionist to join our team!





The post-holder will be a part of the reception team. They will be part of a reception front of house team responsible for the effective running and workload in the reception and report to the Deputy Manager/ Practice Manager.

Job Responsibilities



Dealing with patients requests via the telephone and face to face Booking appointments with clinicians Co-ordinate emergency doctors requests Workflow and all relevant administration tasks within reception Faxing, handing mail, emailing and sending letters to patients Completing prescription requests

Flexibility of working hours is essential for this role as you may be asked to cover at short notice.



Candidates will be required to work Monday to Friday



We require a candidate with extensive relevant experience due to the fast paced nature of the role.



Skills and experience



Previous experience in a similar role within a GP or hospital setting is essential Having Systmone experience would be an advantage Having a self motivated and forward thinking approach Excellent organisational, planning skills and IT skills Excellent and effective communication skills

They do so in confidence and have the right to expect that staff will respect their privacy and act appropriately In the performance of the duties outlined in this , the post-holder may have access to confidential information relating to patients and their carers, practice staff and other healthcare workers. They may also have access to information relating to the practice as a business organisation. All such information from any source is to be regarded as strictly confidential Information relating to patients, carers, colleagues, other healthcare workers or the business of the practice may only be divulged to authorised persons in accordance with the practice policies and procedures relating to confidentiality and the protection of personal and sensitive data.

Personal/Professional Development



The post-holder will participate in any training programme implemented by the practice as part of this employment, such training to include:

Participation in an annual individual performance review, including taking responsibility for maintaining a record of own personal and/or professional development Taking responsibility for own development, learning and performance and demonstrating skills and activities to others who are undertaking similar work.

Pay: Up to 12.21 per hour
