We're looking for a Rail Systems Discipline Lead to join our Routewide team based in Milton Keynes.
In this role, you will be responsible for the technical rail systems interface with the client within the key areas - Rail Systems (Track, OCS, traction power, signalling and telecoms), Asset management, System safety, Interoperability and Security (including fencing).
You will be chairing client interface meetings with each area of responsibility, maintaining, updating and owning relevant management plans. You will manage agreements with interfacing rail systems for designs and design change that has an impact in cooperation with other technical disciplines.
Part of this role is also leading the management, and assessing the impact of technical change from the client because of rail systems request, owning key relationships with client subject matter experts to facilitate effective issue resolution. You will also liaise with handover and completions teams to ensure technical rail systems aspects are finalised to facilitate handover to rail systems contractors in line with the programme schedule/key dates.
In addition, you will be leading the strategy for construction phase O&M manual production including optimising the production and agreeing efficiencies, tracking the Interoperability (NTSN) compliance progress with the Approval Body and contribute to resolving challenging issues raised through review process. You will also ensure threat and vulnerability risk assessments are amended due to changes in design.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
Extensive experience in technical rail systems roles (design/engineering) including major projects or significant rail upgrade schemes with demonstrable cross-discipline rail expertise
Chartered (CEng MPWI or equivalent) professional qualification and previous HS2 experience are desirable
Ability to lead and manage a team with competing priorities with a focus on what is "best for the project"
Management of commercial/contractual aspects of projects with suppliers and client
Strong communication skills at multiple organisational levels, internally and externally
