Brief Description

Manage and direct the Rail Management team in the inspection, testing and maintenance of rails and associated assets to Standards and within agreed resource levels.

About the role (External)

Key Accountabilities:

1. Manage and direct the Rail Management team to achieve business and functional objectives and meet key performance measures.

2. Manage development of individuals and the engagement of the team.

3. Manage the arrangements for staff safety and competence.

4. Identify and implement asset performance, reliability, productivity and efficiency improvement initiatives.

5. Develop and agree inspection, testing and maintenance programmes.

6. Deliver inspection, testing and work in accordance with the agreed programme.

7. Manage the inspection, testing and maintenance of assets to standards.

8. Prioritise work arising and agree work plans.

9. Accurately update systems, databases and records as required.

10. Undertake technical inspections and investigations.

11. Undertake an agreed programme of staff surveillance, work quality and asset condition checks.

Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

Essential

\xc2\xb7 Relevant technical competence in rail management processes and techniques

\xc2\xb7 Detailed knowledge of relevant standards and procedures

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of other functional disciplines

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of operational railway environment

\xc2\xb7 Good interpersonal, influencing, communication and organisation skills

\xc2\xb7 HNC/ HND or equivalent qualification

Desirable

Our Drugs and Alcohol Standard is changing as of 16.01.2023. All prospective candidates who have not been offered a conditional role by 16.01.2023 will be required to undergo and pass a drugs and alcohol test.
