The Research Associate is responsible for monoclonal antibody manufacture using the recombinant antibody process and production of cell line products. This is a very exciting opportunity for someone to have an immediate and positive impact within the team and ultimately support researchers and scientists across the world to discover more faster!
This position reports to the Production Manager and is part of the Cell Sciences In-House Manufacturing team located in Cambridge and will be on-site. At Abcam, our vision is to be the most influential life sciences company for researchers worldwide.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Support all aspects of recombinant antibody process for monoclonal antibody manufacture, to include plasmid preparation, transfection and affinity purification*
Assist in resuscitation, subculture and cryopreservation of cell lines for production of Abcam products.*
Support continuous improvement activities to improve manufacturing processes.*
The essential requirements of the job include:
Hands-on experience of mammalian cell culture and /or affinity purification*
Understanding the fundamental science behind recombinant antibody manufacture processes.*
Hold a BSc. and/or MSc. in a Life Sciences.*
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Use of an ERP system.*
HPLC or LCMS techniques*
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
