Microsearch Laboratories Ltd is a national food testing laboratory situated in Mytholmroyd at the heart of the beautiful Calder Valley. We operate from two sites, situated approximately 1.5 miles apart, one on Moderna business park and one at Brearley.

We are looking for someone to join our Quality Department as a Full time Technician.

The suitable candidate will be hard working, enthusiastic and reliable. They must be able to work productively as part of a team as well as on their own initiative.

Key Tasks of the Post:

Assist in monitoring & Recording of Temperature Controlled Appliances and monitor any deviations from specified tolerances.

Checking the dilumats for weight & volume dispensed and balance check-weighing at start of daily shift.

Perform all sterility testing for agar plates, broths, and diluents. Perform agar depth checks and Viscosity checks on daily media production. Record the results of media physical checks in LIMS.

To assist with internal auditing activities and corrective actions to drive continuous improvement.

To assist with customer complaint investigations and any non-compliances or general issues arising that require further investigation or corrective actions.

Liaise with Quality Manager regarding any matters arising from the above and fill in all necessary paperwork, sheets and files in connection with above points.

Any other tasks required to ensure the smooth running of the department.

Provide Holiday cover for other members of the department.

To familiarise oneself with the content of the quality manual and to comply with the policies and procedures laid down in the manual and associated documentation.

Follow all first aid/spillage's and Health & Safety procedures. Compliance with the responsibilities of Employees in the Health & Safety & Environmental Policy.

The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm

Essential criteria - Educated to or working towards - A level in science.
