We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Monitor to support the Quality Function within the manufacturing and Test areas of our facility. This is a full time, on-site position.
The role involves continuous monitoring of processes and actions involved in ensuring quality of manufacturing plastic, steel, and accessories, and Load/ Safety Testing of both those, and supplied ductile iron manhole covers - ensuring that all products meet Regulatory Standards and Customer Specifications.
The Quality Monitor will work closely with the Quality Manager (QM), to identify and address quality issues, contributing to continuous improvement efforts within the manufacturing process.
The Quality Monitor shall collate data to be passed to the QM - to be recorded, and to analyse & process to improve work instructions, procedures and practices, and to the Design Team where applicable.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor the implementation of quality control processes to ensure product quality standards are met.
Perform inspections and tests as directed by the QM to check for compliance, as well as defects or inconsistencies.
Ensure compliance to company specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements (Customer Specs., International Standards, BSI etc.).
Report test results, defects, non-conformances, and corrective actions taken to the Quality Manager.
Work as directed by the QM with production to identify quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Monitor use of quality control documentation and records for traceability purposes, reporting any issues.
Carry out internal audits, providing necessary documentation and supporting evidence.
Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment is maintained, with safety guidelines and best practices adhered to.
Offer feedback and suggestions on observed disciplines to improve manufacturing processes.
Physical Requirements:
Able to grip, and to lift up to 25 kg alone, or more with help
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with various machinery and equipment
Qualifications &/ or skills:
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Able to work in a manufacturing environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Willing and able to learn about, or already have experience in, manufacturing and quality - preferably in plastic, steel, or ductile iron industries.
Attention to detail and the ability to identify defects and deviations from Instructions/ Specifications.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
Internal Audit experience preferred, but Training can be given.
This is a full-time on-site position for someone with an interest in quality assurance and manufacturing processes - with the role to be expanded to that of Quality Assurance Assistant in the future, pending good performance in these initial responsibilities.
Hours: Monday to Friday 08:30 to 17:00 (with 30 minutes lunch break)
