At our plant in Glenrothes, Scotland we design, develop and produce radial piston motors working in partnership with world renowned international OEM's in industries such as material handling, construction and forestry machinery. Bosch Rexrothis one of the world's leading specialists in the field of drive and control technologies. Under the brand name of Rexroth, the company supplies customers with tailored solutions for driving, controlling, and moving industrial applications, factory automation equipment, mobile applications, and renewable power generation.
What will you be doing?
To lead the Glenrothes Quality function assuming responsibility for direct / indirect reports, developing its capacity, capabilities, and practices (technical, people and process)
To report on plant Quality trends demonstrating performance and supporting improvement activities, identifying trends and making recommendations for remedies where appropriate.
To develop and maintain a pro-active approach to quality management that will include a critical analysis of customer expectations to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Acting as a "bridge" between the Plant and the Central Quality Organisation based in Germany the successful candidate will act as the focal point in terms of both data exchange and general communication. Additionally, the Quality Manager will lead Plant / Divisional review meetings and be responsible for the deployment of Group wide Quality initiatives and procedures.
Working to coach and mentor Quality Engineers and Technicians
To manage the delivery of quality improvement projects, establishing appropriate trackers and reporting progress monthly.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a Team of Quality Engineers and supporting Inspection staff working to realise agreed business objectives. In this capacity you will provide support internally to all functional areas of the business and externally with our customers as necessary.
Additionally, you will be expected to provide management support to the Health, Safety and Environmental Team on site.
Qualifications
What are we looking for?
Engineering Degree or qualified by experience.
A minimum of 10 years' experience in an ISO Certified precision engineering business.
Adept in team management, development and motivating and supporting staff to maintain high quality level of service.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven in-depth experience in Lean Manufacturing process improvement, with a thorough understanding of broad business and manufacturing practices.
You will possess a strong understanding of currently available quality tools, a practical knowledge of technical drawings and geometric tolerancing, a high level of computer and financial literacy, and will be comfortable leading multifunctional teams in complex tasks.
