Due to significant growth, our client are looking for a skilled and experienced Quality Engineer to join a very established manufacturing team to act as the sole QE on-site and provide expert support.
Working for a business with aggressive growth plans, the Quality Engineer will have future opportunities for this role to turn into a Senior position or progress within the larger business group as a whole. You will receive full product and system training inside a company with strong succession planning.
The role:
Key responsibilities of the Quality Engineer role:
Understanding variables and managing all quality-related activities \xe2\x80\x93 50% managing the QMS (Quality Management System) and 50% managing input variables
Managing compliance against the QMS and ensuring compliance with IOS9001
Manage all quality activities on the shop floor
Understand and manage product failure data
Failure modes management and quantifying major defects
Route cause analysis using tools such as 8D, Five Whys, Ishikawa and PPS (practical problem solving)
Problem-solving around the issues (people, process, training, material, equipment)
Understand input variables \xe2\x80\x93 this is the most important part of the role
Responsible for Quality Assurance throughout the Manufacturing Plant, Production control, Incoming Inspections, In Process Quality Control
Will be responsible for Inhouse Quality Management, Customer Relationship Management, Root Cause Analysis, Cost Reduction Activities, Daily Work Management Systems
Responsible for applying 5S, Kaizen, TPS, Kanban, Six Sigma, Poka Yoke and 4M analysis in manufacturing.
Fully Responsible for Internal Audits \xe2\x80\x93 Compliance yearly and management of Audits
Assisting the Group Supplier Quality Department to Develop suppliers for zero-defect delivery and continual improvement.
The Person
Previous experience working as either a Quality Engineer/Senior QE or Quality Manager looking for a stepdown
An engineering qualification i.e. Apprenticeship would be highly beneficial (though not crucial for the role)
Must be proficient in managing and implementing ISO 9001 quality accreditation
Experience within a manufacturing environment
Experienced in quality tools such as 8D and Five Whys
Must have significant experience in input variables from a quality perspective
Worked with EPR systems within a manufacturing environment
Data driven and analytical
Proactive and organised
Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint presentations (including Pareto Charts)
Strong communication skills
