Job Purpose
To assist in the efficient and effective operation of the Manufacturing lines to ensure delivery of product, on time, to specification.
Departmental Liaison
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will liaison closely with the following departments:
Boiler house
Labelling
Co packing
Key duties and areas of Responsibility:
The following duties are intended to give a broad indication of the variety of tasks the post holder will be asked to undertake. It should be noted however, that the list is not exhaustive and staff may be asked to carry out other duties commensurate with the position. The job description may also be amended to take into account changed circumstances.
Accountabilities
Food Safety
To follow safety standards set within the Manufacturing Department in order to ensure the safety of yourself, fellow employees, contractors and customers.
To assist in achieving all departmental objectives, within agreed safety and quality standards.
To achieve the agreed standards of product quality and environmental hygiene.
To assist in maintaining laid down procedures and practices to comply with the BRC standards.
Production
To provide the Production Manager with accurate information i.e. line breakdowns, product rejects.
Ensure each round of product is checked in accordance with laid down procedures to ensure that the correct specification for TSS, pH, flavour and appearance are achieved.
To ensure that final product specification is met for lid torque, degree of security, vacuum etc.
Ensure that line checks are carried out for each round produced.
Ensure that the correct number of samples are retained for shelf life, micro testing, etc.
Ensure product manufacturing Instructions are adhered to, to comply with customer requirements.
Assist with setting up lines, quickly and efficiently, minimizing downtime.
Maintain high standards of hygiene and housekeeping at all times, including clean as you go.
Ensure that product packed into trays, are stacked to the correct pallet formation and height.
Ensure all product rejects are removed from the line and segregated.
Return all materials at the end of the manufacturing run, to the appropriate area. All material must be correctly cleaned, stored, sealed and/or palletized prior to being returned.
Ensure that all fruit is inspected effectively and efficiently to obtain the required raw material specification.
Identify training requirements to the Production Manager prior to undertaking new tasks.
Report any practices or procedures which may be unsafe and have potential to cause injury.

Ensure that any difficulties in working relationships are reported promptly to a supervisor.
Liaise with other team members as required, to fulfil production requirements.
