CANPACK is a leading manufacturer of aluminium beverage cans. We have the latest manufacturing equipment and control technology. We are able to produce very high-quality cans in 15cl, 25cl, 33cl, 44cl and 50cl sizes (other size cans are made within Can Pack Group).

This position is working on a rotating shift pattern 8am-8pm, 8pm-8am.

The duties of this post include:

Ensuring that goods from each production step meet quality standards, specification and customers' requirements by
taking samples and carrying out measurements according to sampling plans.

Carrying out compliance checks in line with internal procedures, instructions and other related documentation (i.e.

OPLs, departmental memos, other).

Releasing compatible products to the warehouse and holding non-conforming product for further analysis and

actions. Assisting in improvement activities, when required.

Ensuring that packaging demands and pallet traceability is in line with production order, packaging catalogue, label

application rules, other related documents (i.e. OPLs).

Delivering continuous information flow to Quality Manager and across other various position levels in order to ensure

proper and high standard communication is in place.

Producing inspection records and carrying out results' analysis against tolerance sheet. Delivering improvement needs

to the Production Team and ensuring adjustments are in place.

Attending and contributing to shift handovers (both among QC Team and to Quality Manager).

Familiarising with recent updates to I-QC instructions, QP procedures, One Point Lessons, departmental memos,

toolboxes and other relevant information distributed by Quality Manager (acknowledgement sheet must follow within

determined timeframe).

Supervising product compliance whilst daily activities; including lithography change/approval and line start-ups (i.e.

size changeovers, machine breakdowns, annual maintenance, other).

Operating measuring equipment in accordance with its purpose (manual, semi-automatic and automatic); repairing

minor faults and reporting major as being responsible for assigned equipment. Taking responsibility for work area.

Ensuring that all input data is correct, adequate, to high standard, on time and in line with requirements [including

SPC data base, Wiera, SAP, other].

Building a team spirit among QC Team; active cooperation and support to shift colleagues.

Assisting in the training process of new starters within QC Department in accordance with training plan.

Cooperation with subsidiary departments and sections to ensure product complies with requirements.

QC laboratory and QC line inspection station (QC test-can area included) are looked after. Areas are kept in

representative condition at all times (clean, tidy, organized, in line with 5S requirements).

Ensuring Quality Management Systems [ISO, BRC, HARA, WCM] are maintained and sustained within QC area of

responsibility. Performing internal audits, as required. Obeying QMS requirements.

Compliance with all Can-Pack UK Ltd. and CANPACK Global policies, rules, regulations and procedures. Obeying Code

of Conduct instructions and guidelines.

Performing other duties of a similar nature as from time to time may be required, including any other duty reasonable

and justified corresponding with the role at superior's directions.

The successful candidate must have:

GCSEs / A levels or equivalent NVQ in similar discipline; previous experience in similar role; very good communication skills across all operational levels; min intermediate English; perceptiveness, accuracy and thoroughness at a very high standard; the ability of logical thinking and root - cause analysis, common sense; decision making and problem solving attitude; manual skills to work with measuring devices; flexibility, willing to cover OT and additional shifts, including day / night shifts and weekends; understanding of Quality Standards.
