We are recruiting for a Quality Control Manager based at our Telford site.You will provide collaborative management by working closely with site functions to support the compliance to site/BU/UTM/customer and regulatory legislation the safe production of quality foods. This means meeting quality standards, policies, procedures, processes and practices in assurance of the company continuous conformance with appropriate standards, specifications and regulations.

Quality Control manager main tasks & responsibilities: -
Main tasks
1. Ensure the Quality Control Function operate in a safe and appropriate manner
2. Develop the people plan.
3. Develop the Quality Control function, maintain CLAS accreditation.
4. Develop and deploy the Quality control laboratory Budget.
5. Support the main manufacturing operation to ensure we produce safe great quality products, Right first Time.
6. Communicate and act as food safety champion managing all stakeholders.
Quality Control
1. Accountable for the Quality Control of all incoming raw materials and outgoing finished product, the people and the maintenance/accuracy of the equipment within the Quality Control or across the factory.
2. Analyse data and share with the site to ensure that all operational and financial KPI\'s can be managed as applicable, and that all 3rd party testing is communicated accurately and on time in full.
3. Assist with the management of the site QMS and compliance requirements with the site Technical Team.
4. Support the Quality Systems Manager with internal and external audits and deputise / lead as require
5. Support the Quality Systems Manager in closing out actions raised during customer approval, 1st production and maintenance audits in addition to Third party and CMS audits.
6. Complete (GMP) and QMS audits as per Internal audit schedule and ensure actions are raised/closed out in a timely manner
7. Support the site in carrying out ad hoc GMP audits to ensure audit ready every day
8. Ensure the equipment is reading accurately and support the operators using the equipment and relevant systems, analysing the daily reading to ensure control is met.
9. Deploy the Quality Management Plan (QMP) and the Environmental Monitoring Plan (EMP) and set up controls for all raw and finished product testing ensuring we are aligned to reference testing.
Quality Systems
1. In conjunction with the Quality Systems Manager maintain documentation and document control system on site to comply with MYD Standards and Customer Codes of Practice.
2. Assist with Mock Recall and Traceability exercises throughout the year, as required.
3. Raising concessions for Production, Engineering and contractors as required.
4. Supporting the Quality Systems Manager in undertaking GAP analysis against relevant retailer CoP, ensuring any actions are raised and suitable corrective actions implemented as required
Complaints
1. Close out with actions on-site complaints regarding raw materials and Finished Product
2. Support consumer/customer complaint investigations as required and feedback trends to Operation.
Quality Control Manager key skills and experience: -
1. 5 years\' experience in a QC leader role including a Bachelor\'s degree in a related subject
2. Food safety level 4, HACCP level 4, Advanced Auditor, Dairy skills and Knowledge, SAP QM, LIMS, Auditing experience, detailed understanding of QC, QA within a QM environment
3. Excellent communication skills - ability to deal with people at all levels, internally and externally, with the credibility to make a significant impact within the business
4. Strength of character to challenge the status quo.
5. Open-minded approach with strong quantitative and analytical skills
6. CA, Lean skills, Finance, Project management
7. Ensuring compliance with H&S, HR and quality procedures
8. Developing lab and actioning site change control
9. Training (includes competency checks (lab and factory))
10. IT: Microsoft Office packages in particular EXCEL, Report writing, SAP understanding.
11. Basic understanding of SPC (weight program)
12. Private Label experience with GFSI/BRC audit schemes
