Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Assurance person to join our team in a meat manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for ensuring all products meet food safety, legal, and customer standards, working closely with production and technical teams to maintain high standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and verify all aspects of food safety, hygiene, and quality assurance throughout production. Conduct routine quality checks, including temperature controls, CCP (Critical Control Point) and traceability Ensure compliance with HACCP, BRCGS (and customer-specific standards. Report and investigate non-conformances, initiating corrective and preventive actions where required. Support internal and external audits, including BRC, customer, and regulatory inspections. Maintain accurate QA records, including sampling logs, hygiene audits, and test results. Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality and food safety protocols. Ensure compliance with all relevant UK and EU legislation (e.g., FSA, DEFRA).

Skills & Qualifications:

Experience in food manufacturing, preferably in meat or poultry processing. Working knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS standards, and food safety legislation. Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. IT literate

Desirable:

Food Science or related qualification (e.g., Level 3/4 Food Safety, HACCP certification). Experience with customer audits (e.g., Tesco, M&S, Aldi protocols).

Working Hours:

Predominantly Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm. However at peak times flexibility is required.
