Since its formation in 1978, Moore Concrete Products Ltd has developed into a world class, quality focused, precast concrete manufacturer based outside Ballymena. The company is customer focus led, ensuring the continued evolution of our extensive product range, designed to meet the requirements of civil infrastructure, agriculture and building customers across the UK and Ireland.
We are currently recruiting for Quality Assistants to join our Quality & Technical team in maintaining compliance and conformity with ISO 9001, British and European Standards. The role will involve carrying out daily quality checks and tests and driving quality throughout all aspects of the business, ensuring that systems, procedures and policies are adhered to whilst striving for continuous improvement.
Hours of work:
Option 1: 06:00 \xe2\x80\x93 15:00 or 08:17:00 Monday \xe2\x80\x93 Friday (40hrs per week)
Option 2: 12hr shift pattern 4-day week Mon, Tues, Fri & Sat (6am \xe2\x80\x93 6pm with Saturday being 6am \xe2\x80\x93 5pm) and 3-day week Tues-Thurs (6am \xe2\x80\x93 6pm). This will be rotated between shift teams. Shift allowance will be payable.
Job responsibilities:
To comply with the Health & Safety management system as laid down in OHSAS: 18001 and the Company rules at all times.
Work within the company\xe2\x80\x99s Integrated Management System (IMS) in maintaining the quality accreditation. Ensure implementation and compliance in terms of ISO:9001, British Standards and Eurocodes.
Following a testing schedule and quality checks in factory and in the lab daily/weekly/monthly.
Carrying out dimension checks on products, conduct mould checks and setup.
Preparing documentation and records of all tests and checks carried out and ensure these are up to date.
Monitor product quality and report, variations, and developments. Contribute to problem solving and developing and implementing appropriate solutions.
Working effectively as part of the quality team and build positive working relationships with operations and office personnel whilst adhering to the quality system.
Essential Criteria:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work.
Thoroughness to ensure products meet required specifications.
IT skills including the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Capability to work in a busy factory environment.
Good communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
Willingness to develop expertise in carrying out necessary tests.
Desirable Criteria:
Experience in material & concrete testing within a laboratory environment.
Knowledge of the construction/civils industry.
Experience in setting out or taking measurements on site.
Ability to interpret technical drawings.
