The Open Library of Humanities is seeing an enthusiastic individual with and Software and/or Publishing background to join our award winning team in running the Janeway publishing platform. We are a small friendly team wo work remotely and have a passion for extending access to scholarship through open access publishing and open-source technologies.
Joining our existing team of four we are looking for a staff member tosupport the development of Janeway, an open-source publishing system used across the College and within its various publishing projects. Janeway is developed and maintained by a publishing technologies team at the Open Library of Humanities, which is based at Birkbeck.
In consultation with the Open Library of Humanities Director of Publishing Technologies, you will be responsible for delivery and maintenance of software systems required to fulfil the needs of the Open Library of Humanities, commercial clients, and various other publishing projects situated within the College.
You will develop software, bugfix, provide program support, and maintain developed software. The purpose of this development work is to situate Janeway as a world-leading academic publication platform.
A keen interest in Open Access, Open Source, and knowledge of the Open Library of Humanities is essential.
Remuneration:
Grade 7 of the College\'s London Pay Scale which is \xc2\xa342,365 rising to \xc2\xa348,424 per annum.
The salary quoted is on the College\'s London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
