About the Role

We seek a collaborative, analytical, and organized colleague to play a pivotal role in pre-publication screening of manuscripts. You will prioritize work, fact-check meticulously, and communicate effectively. You are passionate about research integrity and publishing ethics. You will work with Editors and Publishers to resolve concerns before manuscript acceptance.

ResponsibilitiesAnalysing concerns in manuscripts flagged by Elsevier's research integrity technology solution to validate signals or resolve false positives. Deciding, according to protocols, which concerns can be remediated by the authors before reconsideration. Reviewing manuscripts where concerns have been remediated to ensure compliance with requests and the journal policies and Guides for Authors. Communicating concerns, to Editors, Publishers, and authors for due consideration, according to protocols. Gathering and sharing insights to propose changes to editorial and research integrity workflows and processes in response to new behaviors or challenges. Becoming an expert in the use of technologies and tools to provide insights into potential unethical behaviors and providing feedback regarding potential new features or improvements. Becoming an expert in publishing ethics best practices and becoming a trusted partner to internal and external stakeholders.


RequirementsHave relevant demonstrable experience of scientific and medical publishing Have Knowledge of peer-review and the publishing process Have excellent communication skills Display excellent analytical, organizational and prioritization skills Have the ability to work methodically, problem-solve and fact-check An assessment or case study may be part of our selection procedure.
