About the Role
This is a new role to help support the Senior Executive Team with this type of engagement; working specifically within the remit of the Vice-Principal for Policy & Strategic Partnerships. The Vice-Principal for Policy & Strategic Partnerships is accountable for several high-profile areas of work at Queen Mary University of London.
Reporting to the Executive Officer (Policy & Strategic Partnerships) and working closely with the Vice-Principal for Policy & Strategic Partnerships, the Public Affairs Lead will be expected to create a portfolio of existing and potential high profile relationships, advise the Senior Executive Team on the most appropriate VIP engagement strategies, find opportunities to bring senior stakeholders closer to Queen Mary\'s work, and raise our profile with key external stakeholders. The post forms part of a Strategic Partnerships Team supporting the Vice-Principal.
About You
You will have experience of working in a political advisory or public affairs capacity, including in a context outside of higher education. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to support organisations raise their profile with predetermined stakeholder groups by working creatively and collaboratively with colleagues. Experience of policy development and working with senior executives is also preferred.

About the Department
The Office of the Principal consists of senior leaders at Queen Mary as well as a number of teams leading on strategically significant initiatives. The post holder will work collaboratively with colleagues across the Principal\'s Office, including Civic Impact, Arts and Culture, and the Impact team, as well as colleagues across the university, in particular External Relations.

The post is based at Mile End, London. It is full time, permanent and to start as soon as possible. The starting salary will be Grade 6, in the range of \xc2\xa352,549 - \xc2\xa355,483 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
