As part of its ongoing commitment to excellence, the university is now seeking to appoint a new Pro Vice-Chancellor/Dean for the Faculty of Arts, Design and Humanities.

Operating out of the award-winning Vijay Patel Building, which provides inspiring, flexible spaces, studios and facilities that invite creativity and innovation, the Faculty of Art, Design and Humanities brings together a diverse range of activities, in ways which are boundary pushing. It aims to embed DMU as a national leader in creative education, research and knowledge exchange, building on current strengths that takes pride in offering innovative courses, with employability in mind, which balance academic approaches and artistic endeavour with leading-edge technologies.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead, and drive forward, a key part of the University\'s academic portfolio, building on the Faculty\'s many strengths in humanities, performing arts, architecture, art, fashion and textiles. We are seeking a superb strategic leader with exceptional credentials in their field, strong industry networks and sustained academic leadership experience, who can engage and inspire staff, students and key partners. Externally, they will represent the institution across a range of relevant audiences, working to enhance its brand and reputation regionally, nationally and internationally, through education, research and innovation activity. The Dean of Faculty role is held in conjunction with a cross-institution PVC role which could involve the Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity portfolio leadership.
