We are looking for a Property Risk Engineer to join our UK team, who can be based from home or in our central London office.

Your Team
Our Allianz Risk Consulting (ARC) team is made up of experienced engineers from a wide range of technical and scientific disciplines. The team provides a flexible range of risk consulting services, from natural hazards, fire safety, and human and organizational risk factors to in-depth analysis of industry operations, and financial exposures, across all industry sectors and risks. We also focus on delivering bespoke training plans to help optimize risk management procedures in the long term.

We are able to call on many years of specific business risk experience - creating tailor-made risk management services to respond to unique challenges.

The Impact You Will Have
Reporting directly to the UK Property Risk Consulting Manager, as a Property Engineer you will conduct surveys to support business and customer needs, assess and summarize an account\'s operations, exposures, control adequacy and indicate any improvements needed. In addition, you provide loss control expertise to customers and business partners, and generally offer a high-level service to your accounts providing value-added expertise at every touchpoint.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

• Working collaboratively in a team of underwriters, loss control, claims and other business partners.
• Establishing and maintaining commercial relations to persuade customers to choose Allianz Commercial and to embrace our improvement solutions
• Delivering concise, high quality, objective views of risk in a timely manner. This includes accurate loss expectancies, assessments of account exposures, control adequacy, risk grading, and appropriate recommendations and/or service plans
• Developing technically based risk management recommendations. Providing insights, analysis, and best engineering judgement to determine likelihood of impact to loss mitigation and working with client, broker and underwriting to improve overall account risk quality
• Application of NFPA/FM and related safety guidelines, codes, and local standards

What You\'ll Bring to the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to play an integral role in building out our capability and shaping the future. We\'d like to find someone with a minimum 3 to 5 years\' proven track record in engineering/loss control, ideally in a commercial insurance environment, but remain open to promising profiles with potentail to develop quickly.

• Technical awareness of property loss control and certification, or a strong will to learn and become certified
• Preferably a bachelor\'s degree in Engineering, or other technical discipline (other coursework in conjunction with engineering/technical experience will be considered)
• Strong communication skills, in English and the ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally.
• Knowledge of multiple lines of business insurance coverages and underwriting processes
• The attitude of a true team-player
• The motivation for life-long learning, particularly working with data
• Self-starter, able to develop and implement initiatives with minimum input from Management
• Able to travel on a regular basis, mostly within the UK, but also including international trips if required.
